Lord Ganesha m-seal Frame -DIY!

A Lord Ganesha work, I consider this one a really fine piece of craft. I saw this one in a Fevicryl hobby ideas book, I don’t remember which one though. This involved certain mischievous activities before being created! It required the use of gravel (used for constructing roads), and so a friend of mine and I had to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night to a lonely road that was being constructed, lift up a handful of gravel, and rush back! (Sorry people, I just didn’t know from where else to get it). A lot of m-seal and a good carpenter, who had to bear my tantrums about perfection of the Lord Ganesha cutting, helped me :).

To DIY this m-seal art, collect these materials:

• Wood (cut into the shapes of Ganesha and the curvy background base)
• M-seal
• White cement
• Fevicol
• Gravel
• Sand
• Colors (Pearl metallic blue, pearl metallic green, bronze, golden, white)
• Black enamel paint
• Paintbrushes

Lets start making:

1. Stick the Ganeshji cut-out at the bottom middle of the curvy base with fevicol.
2. Spread fevicol over the sides of the curvy wooden base. Sprinkle and stick gravel and mud all over it.
3. Make a mixture of fevicol, white cement and a little water in to a thick paste (consistency idly batter). Spread it all over the remaining part of the base. Once spread, run your fingers over it in straight lines to give it the uneven texture.
4. Make designs of “Aum”, “Shri”, or any other of your choice using m-seal.
5. On the Ganeshji, make the crown, eyes and all other parts using m-seal. The designs on the crown can be created using materials such as scale, spring, ball point pen without refill, needle, etc. Do the designing before the m-seal dries.
6. Once it dries, paint the entire board black, except in the area where blue paint is to be done, as per the image.
7. Leave it aside for a couple of hours till the paint completely dries. Use golden and bronze paints to create shades over Ganeshji, Aum, and on the sides. Paint the trunk and eyes using white. Give a highlighted effect to the Shri by painting it with pearl metallic green. Paint the remaining top area using pearl metallic blue.
